To promote comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development while pursuing high-quality development and make greater contributions to global climate change response, President Xi Jinping put forward the "30•60 Carbon Goals" in his address at the General Debate of the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The goals aim to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. In response, enterprises in eight major industries—electric power, steel, non-ferrous metals, chemical industry, petrochemical industry, building materials, paper making, and aviation—with an annual comprehensive energy consumption of over 10,000 tons of standard coal equivalent (equivalent to approximately 26,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in greenhouse gas emissions) have been designated as emission-controlled enterprises and are mandated to participate in the carbon emission trading market.
Although Jiahe Food is not an emission-controlled enterprise, it has taken the initiative to shoulder corporate responsibilities, conscientiously implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on building a national carbon emission management system, and actively respond to the call for carbon emission reduction.
Starting in April 2021, Jiahe planned to establish a carbon emission management team, began to understand and learn relevant policies and information on carbon neutrality, kept abreast of the latest news and developments related to carbon neutrality in real time, regularly compiled carbon information reports, and conducted internal carbon emission management training for sharing and exchange within the company. Subsequently, Jiahe registered for and participated in the 44th Carbon Asset Management Training, which was guided by the Education and Training Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and hosted by the Beijing Green Exchange, and obtained the corresponding certificate.
Jiahe Food has always taken carbon emission management as a key task and continued to advance it. To better build a corporate carbon emission management system and establish a sound internal carbon emission management system, Jiahe Food has continuously supplemented, formulated and improved necessary documents, requiring the company to organize and implement specific work in accordance with the documents to ensure that daily operations are carried out effectively as required. Meanwhile, it has been constantly improving documents related to the carbon emission management system. After defining the scope and boundaries of the carbon emission management system, the company regularly conducts internal carbon emission accounting, and plans and formulates relevant projects such as low energy consumption, carbon reduction, and negative carbon emission.
Jiahe Food will continue to practice its corporate environmental protection concept, strengthen its own greenhouse gas emission management, promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, standardize its own greenhouse gas reporting system, and scientificize its carbon emission accounting methods. This will further standardize, institutionalize, standardize and scientificize the company's own carbon emission construction, and ultimately establish a complete corporate carbon asset management system to support the achievement of the "30•60 Carbon Goals".
